Mission Statement

St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center, in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph, seeks to create a healthier community by providing comprehensive, affordable, and affirming healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured in the Rochester region.

About Us

St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center provides person-centered comprehensive primary and specialty care, mental health counseling, support services and referrals, healthcare access assistance, and more to individuals and families who are uninsured and under-insured in the greater Rochester area.

Established in 1993 as a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and becoming an independent nonprofit in 2012, the Center is committed to raising the health status and quality of life of individuals and families in our area.

Funded by caring souls like you.

Our funding comes from the following areas:

  • Grants – 50%*

  • Donations – 42%

  • Fees for Service – 1%

  • Miscellaneous Income – 6%

*SJNC is very selective about which funders it applies to for grants. While this percentage of our funding model has increased in recent years, we are still fiercely independent and do not take funds from sources that dictate how we serve our patients.
